๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Lake District III – Cartmel & Grange-over-Sands

On our third day in the Lake District we stopped for coffee at Yew Tree Barn. This is a gem of a place. It has a restaurant and it is also a treasure trove full of wonderful antique furniture and garden statues. If only we had the money to ship some of these treasures back home!!! But looking is fun and cheap.

We love, love, love … small quaint English villages so of course we fell head over heels for Lower Allithwaite- Cartmel with its stunning Church.

It’s wonderful water way.

To end our time in the Lake District we headed to Grange-over-Sands. Here we did a circuit walking first through the Ornamental Gardens around through the town and then back along the Promenade. Along the Promenade Walk we learnt about the dangerous quick sand drop offs in the sand dunes. No wonder everyone was walking on the Promenade!!!!

After another great day exploring we stopped on the narrow hedged road to watch the sheep doing yoga in the fields near our Airbnb!

The morning we left the bliss of the Lake District we had a rainbow outside our bedroom window.
