Reluctantly we packed away our coats, scarves and gloves for the long haul home. The weather at home will be extremely hot after spending a lot of our time out doors in temperatures as low as 3 degrees. I think No I know …. I am a coat, scarf and boot scooting type of girl.
We spent the night at the Ibis Heathrow Airport Hotel. A very clean, efficient and comfortable cost effective accommodation. No frills, no extras! What you see is what you get! Not even a bar fridge or bottle opener! We used a spoon to open our last cherry beer. But our accommodation was perfect for dropping off the hire car and then only a 5 minute walk back to the hotel.
The planes roar down the air strip late into the night but surprisingly we both get a good night sleep.
We take a 5-30am bus to the airport. Feeling quite relaxed as Jai was busy mowing the lawn ready for our return so we could just slip into bed after our long trip back.
It has been the trip of a lifetime. It will be a while before our next one. But … we are definitely keen to continue our adventures. As they say – Never Stop Travelling!!
I am still very proud of our luggage limit after a 6 week winter trip. No bags busting at the seams!! Hope our weight is the same!! Mmmm not sure about that!!!
