๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Champs-ร‰lysรฉes & Eiffel Tower

We ventured on towards the Champs Elysรฉes which is a 1.9 kilometre famous shopping strip. We stopped at the Disney shop. Wow the Christmas crowds in the two storey Disney shop were outrageous. At one stage I lost Rob. People love their Disney characters. Just near hear we purchased our tickets to Disneyland Paris. Then we were off to explore like kids the kilometres of Christmas markets. People flooded the streets which made it a little hard to move. We found a great hand cut potato crisp stand which was a must.

Crowds and traffic jams continued to the Arc de Triomphe.img_2916img_2919

A rest stop along the way!

Our last stop for the day with aching feet was the Eiffel Tower which shone bronze in the night sky. Ice skating and a crowded Christmas market in a festival spirit surrounded the Eiffel Tower. Christmas time is such a fun festive time to be in the city of Paris! We took the crowded elevator up to the observation deck to view the romantic city of Paris in the night sky. Breathtaking as most cities are by night with a silver glow that flowed magically along the river.

Every hour for five minutes on the hour the Eiffel Tower flashes its lights. We were up the tower and did not fully see the impact until the following night when we took a night boat cruise. We walked around 14 kilometres on our first day.ย  On the second day our cruise on cue stopped in front of the Eiffel Tower when it was a blaze of sparkling lights all twinkling in the magic night sky like a true icon as it is. This was our favourite memory of Paris a sight not to miss.

We also found the love lockets.

My second favourite memory was browsing through the very small antique shops and markets only streets away from where we live. I found things from my childhood in a land so far, far away. I brought Rob an old Uncle Scrooge Disney badge as it was one of his childhood favourite Disney characters.

The stairs to our apartment are definitely antique. Another reason to love Paris!
